Mooring Ball Run

March 30th 2025

Greg and Brandy take off in Katniss dinghy to look for a mooring ball back over by the Las Olas Blvd. To no avail, we are let down, none of the boats have left. We head back to The Chasing Destiny with our heads hanging. It’s time to grab some provisions and head back to the dinghy dock where the mooring balls are to catch an Uber so we can retrieve our car and make the long trip back to our base camp at Mizner Park to clean and end our time there. As we approach the mooring ball field, we can see that a boat has left. We go as fast as we can, and we see the golden mooring ball. We high five and tie a bumper with our vessels name on it. We radio (call) The Chasing Destiny to alert the crew on board, Evie and Katniss.

We pull anchor and haul ass back to Las Olas. We did it, we got the last working mooring ball!! We are home!

Well, it’s time to make our long (800 feet ha ha) crossing to the dinghy dock with supplies on board. We wave goodbye to the crew that we have left behind, hopefully we will see them before sunset. On our long passage we are flagged down by someone on the S/V “In the Kitchen”. A friendly sailing neighbor named Jeff welcoming us into the area. Thank you, Jeff for the Leopard hats.

Uber picks us up and we finally get the car and make our way back to are old base camp at Mizner Park. Brandy and Greg clean and lug out the remaining items to the trash. Apt is done and we walk out for the last time. She has served us well. We will miss you, MP.

We start our way back to the boat. We realize we need to grab some food for the crew on board. We are finally home and we can chill out.
