Loch Ness Monster

April 8th 2025

Just as the sun rises, Brandy spotted what looked like the loch ness monster. She rushed to the nav station and grabbed the binoculars, when she reached the port side, she could see that it was not the loch ness monster but just a lonely old palm frond. We are safe again out on the open ocean (Jk, just sitting on the mooring ball).

Greg decides that we should make the journey to fuel up, as Brandy will be on the boat for the first time by herself for a few days. We leave the dinghy on the mooring ball that way no one will take it while we are gone. We head down the Intra-coastal. Fueling is complete.

Captain Greg briefs the crew and informs us that it is time to stretch her legs and hoist the sails. Katniss voted no on this knowing the hazards that await her inside of the salon area. She was out voted. Sorry Katniss.

We hit the open ocean and start to raise the sails, so beautiful. The waves are aggressive, reaching 20 feet high (not really). The waves were pretty crazy. The boat is being tossed around in the ocean, when
Brandy dashes into the salon where she can see Katniss holding on for dear life. Everything was crashing down, including the giant boxes that have not been unpacked yet. Katniss was right to have voted no. Brandy swoops Katniss up instantly saving her from the nightmare, while trying to hold on with one arm now and trying to stop everything from falling. Nope, can’t do that. Greg can hear the chaos and decides to head back to land. I can see the look in Katniss’s eyes, telling me that she thought she was in an earthquake. Terrified, Katniss jumps back into my arms, she is a small shih tzu, so can only imagine how high she had to jump.

We end the day with laughing about our first adventure. That’s what we do, we get crazy!!
