Katniss and Kody

“Today was a momentous occasion: Katniss, bless her newly-diva heart, had a date with Kody, her hair stylist in Utah (and don’t you forget it, she’s made it very clear). Apparently, Boca Raton had inflated her ego along with her perfectly coiffed imaginary updo, and we were still in the de-diva-fication process.

The mere mention of Kody’s name by B and G sent Katniss into a full-blown furry frenzy. Imagine a furry, four-legged missile of pure joy, complete with the ‘jolly wag’ – an advanced tail-wagging technique that threatened to knock over small furniture – and cheerful howls that sounded suspiciously like she was demanding immediate transport. Clearly, the anticipation for expertly sculpted ear fluff was reaching critical levels. The reunion with Kody was indeed sweet, probably involving more enthusiastic tail wags than your average human interaction.

While Katniss underwent her glamorous transformation, the rest of us enjoyed a much-needed dose of normalcy with Jolyne, Joe, and the ever-adorable Maggie May. We’d missed three of them immensely. After a lovely visit, it was time to retrieve the newly primped and preened Katniss and begin our trek back to the mountain kingdom of Park City.
