Snuba Time

Captain Greg, ever the diligent seafarer, was up with the sun, meticulously checking the weather. “Today,” he declared, “is the day for the open ocean!” Their first stop: fuel, because even magnificent vessels like the Chasing Destiny run on more than just good vibes.

After a surprisingly drama-free fueling, the crew (Brandy, Katniss, and Greg) patiently awaited the grand opening of the 17th Street Bridge. It felt like an eternity, but finally, with a mighty groan and a slow rise, freedom beckoned. They were unleashed into the glorious expanse of the open ocean, making a beeline for some prime mooring balls known for their excellent scuba and snorkeling opportunities.

Now, this is where things got interesting. Brandy, a true hero of breakfast, decided to tackle the morning meal amidst the rocking and rolling of the waves. Pans slid, coffee sloshed, and Katniss, strategically braced against a cooler, looked on with a mixture of awe and mild concern. Despite the aquatic acrobatics required, Brandy successfully conjured up a feast for the crew, even managing to get a few bites into Greg before gearing up with his Air Buddy, (we like to call it snubering) and plunging into the great unknown.

The “crew” (which largely consisted of Brandy trying not to laugh and Katniss contemplating her next nap) nervously awaited Greg’s return. Not really. But the suspense was making her insane , mainly for what he might bring back. Minutes stretched into what felt like hours, and then, a splash! Greg surfaced, goggled and dripping, but notably… fish-less.

A collective sigh (of mock disappointment) swept across the Chasing Destiny. “Well,” Brandy announced with a theatrical shrug, “I guess the crew will go to bed hungry another night!” The only thing abundant was laughter, proving that even a fishing bust on the open ocean can be a reel good time.
