Private Beach Part II
June 3rd 2025
The wind howled its greeting on day two at Double Breasted Cay, whipping the turquoise water into a frenzy. Katniss, ever the optimist, wagged her tail enthusiastically, seemingly unfazed by the blustery conditions.
Despite the rough weather, duties called. The dinghy, affectionately (or perhaps resignedly) dubbed the new poop walk, was launched. Greg, with Katniss perched dutifully in the bow, navigated the choppy waters. It was a bouncy ride, but Katniss seemed to relish the adventure, her ears flapping in the wind.
Back on the mothership, the rest of the crew embraced the forced downtime. There would be no snorkeling today, no exploring the sandy shores. This was a day for hunkering down, for enjoying the simple comfort of being together in a safe haven amidst the elements. The aroma of homemade meatballs simmering in a rich tomato sauce and the yeasty scent of freshly baked bread wafted from the galley, promising a comforting meal.
As dusk settled, bringing with it an even stronger gust of wind. By early evening, the crew was turning in. Sleep came easily, a deep kind of slumber, but not without the underlying knowledge that the night would be a long one. The anchors would need constant monitoring, the boat would be spinning, and regular checks would be essential.
Sand Cay, that’s one for the books. Such the perfect remote anchorage.
Sounds like a cozy day!! We miss ya’ll
